detox time, birthday edition

the brown, furry one cooked all my favorite things for my birthday last night. and today i detox in a serious way. fo' real! only liquids (but no booze)...probably some chicken broth, a kombucha, herbal tea, and bubbly water.

this is what was on the menu:

hors d'oeuvres
charcuterie plate
burrata drizzed with catalan olive oil and sprinkled with fleur de sel
assorted olives

first course
roasted veal shank bone marrow served with truffle-butter toasted baguette

main course
12 oz organic, free-range, grass-fed filet mignon topped with seared foie gras
asparagus spears roasted in duck fat

dessert
warm molten chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream

wine
2001 brunello di montalcino (forget which one but it was damn good)

oh, and i think there was a salad.
